Messy Church

Stanground Baptist Church held a Messy Church with a Christmas theme on Sunday 2nd December.  They made angels, crowns, decorated glass candle holders, coloured nativity scenes to be lamenated, tissue paper window stars and snow flakes, hanging baby cribs for Christmas trees.  They made a stable and added all the figures while the story was told.

This follows similar events held in July which focussed on Noahs Ark this included a large rainbow and Ark along with the animals, banana boats, iced rainbow cakes.

The October one told the story of Joseph and included naking a life-sized collage of Joseph's multi-coloured coat, decorating biscuits, making dream clouds and Joseph peg dolls and designing an Egyptian ncklace!

Children and their families choose which activities they would like to have a go at and they all listen to the story and join in with a song.  The informal gathering lasts about an hour and finishes with free refreshments (rinks, crisps, cakes and biscuits).

Messy church is now a worldwide approach to creating Church using fun, food, crafts and worship to bring all ages together in a fun-filled environment.
